Bug Free Horses!
A horse is an intelligent and dear companion to human beings, and as such, they should be taken care of and treated fairly. Although some horses are used by people for racing, nothing is more spectacular than well fed and healthy horses grazing peacefully in a pasture. In fact, it's rare to see a horse that isn't surrounded by flies and other bugs. We, at Parsons Pest Management, want you and your horse to be happy and bug-free, so we created this page to give you information and ways to keep your pet safe and bug free. At the end of the information we'll provide you with pictures and links to some of the best, safe, organic pest control products available to fight the invaders that are making your horse miserable.

Whether a little pony or a full grown stallion. Your pet needs your help

Horses are being attacked constantly due to the cleanliness of stables and barns they live in! Can you imagine having an itch so icredibly bad or even a fly on your nose but not having flexible limbs (arms) to scratch that itch? It would be incredibly bad and it's a horrible truth your horse lives with everyday. Whether it's the constant annoyance of flies or even ticks, mites and fleas, your horse needs you.
Flea bites are uncomfortable for your horse, plus they can also cause anemia, dermatitis and tapeworms. If you have a horse, you should administer treatment right away.
Ticks can transmit Lyme disease, piroplasmosis and another disease called Babesiosis. In extreme cases, ticks will suck so much blood from the horse that it ends up becoming anemic!
Flies are known to inflict vicious bites on horses, and in the process, transmit diseases and infections. Flies in the stable can transmit equine infections, and anemia, while the botfly larvae will later become a parasite in the horse's stomach. Other flies will enter the skin of the horse and lead to massive destruction of some tissues.
Mosquitoes will infect your horse with West Nile Virus, Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis, and in extreme cases, even cause anemia. Gnats are known to cause skin allergies on the horse, and also transmit summer itch. Lice will make the horse keep on itching, while severe infestation will lead to hair loss and anemia. Another common insect that will affect horses is the midge, which also causes hair loss. It also causes secondary bacterial infections to horses.
Making them more difficult to treat, many mites, fleas, and other pests have grown immune to many of the chemicals in use today because of being exposed to them so very often, so you need a product that will work.
